The mission of the FCWA is to protect and enhance the natural resources and quality of life within county watersheds by fostering research, education, cooperation, and voluntary action on the part of individuals, community groups, businesses, and governmental agencies.  The FCWA is taking the initiative to better appreciate the complex watershed relationships in Franklin County, to restore and enhance watershed resources where needed, and to maintain a sustainable watershed resource base for the future.   Through education and technical assistance, the FCWA is working with local landowners to ensure a high quality of life for all Franklin County residents. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;The Franklin County Watershed Association works to preserve, protect and enhance the natural resources and quality of life in the county by:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;        * monitoring and improving water quality;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;        * enhancing wildlife habitat;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;        * promoting forest stewardship;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;        * promoting conservation practices;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;        * educating the community about important environmental issues; and&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style='margin-left: 72pt'&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;* cooperating with responsible agencies to encourage wise land-use planning in watersheds located in Franklin County.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style='font-family:Arial'&gt;The Franklin County Watershed Association meets 4th Wednesday of each month at 9:30 am at the Franklin County Conservation District Office located at 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA.
